So you're thinking about having your child's birth story captured! I have had 4 children of my own & attended the births of 7 of my nieces and nephews, plus the birth stories I have had the privilege of capturing. Every single one is different!

Why hire a birth photographer?

Giving birth is an amazing experience! There is so much that goes on during labor and delivery. Parents are often so focused on mom that a lot of wonderful moments are missed. It is my job to capture all the beautiful moments so that you can look back on this day forever.

Will we meet before the birth?

Yes! We will schedule a meeting as soon as you contact me about capturing your birth. We will discuss your birth plan, expectations, and get to know one another so that I am not a stranger to you or your family.

What should I expect?

I will try to remain as "invisible" as possible! My focus will be to capture all the unique and intimate moments that make your birth story special to you. We will have discussed your expectations and what you are comfortable with in regards to what is photographed. I shoot using available light and stay as low key as I can. Your images will be captured in a photojournalistic style. I have the knowledge and equipment capable of handling tricky lighting situations. This frees you and your family to focus on YOU.

What if I have a c-section?

I will capture all the moments before and after your c-section. I also have a camera I can share with your support person so that they can capture some images that I will proof if your hospital doesn't allow me in the rooom.

Will you be available no matter what time I go into labor?

Yes. I only schedule one birth session per month to avoid overlap! I will have you contact me as soon as you go into labor so that I can reschedule any portrait appointments that may conflict with your big day! If you need me at 2 a.m. I am on call 24/7 for your big day!
